Modi government is now keen to resolve the situation in kashmir valley politically and internally and also win over the divergent political leaders of Kashmir.

After two months,the National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar were allowed to meet with a delegation of NC leaders who flew in to Srinagar from Delhi On Sunday morning.

The delegation comprising 15 former legislators was led by provincial President Devender Singh Rana. They discussed issues for over two hours which ranged from UN developments, Pakistan and national furor over curfew and detentions in Kashmir.

Farooq and Omar Abdullah, both former chief ministers, were placed under detention the night before the centre scrapped Jammu and Kashmir’s special status on August 5.

While 81-year-old Farooq Abdullah has been placed under house arrest at his Srinagar residence, his son remains detained at the Hari Niwas state guest house nearby.
