Senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former MP N.Siva Prasad died due to renal failure on Saturday,party sources said. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

The MP in last Lok Sabha had iconised the TDP campaign against bifurcation and for special status with his fancy dress in various avatars.

He donned fancy dresses,enacting a unique character every day, during protests outside Parliament opposing the bifurcation of Andhra (2013-14) and later demanding special category status to the state (2018-19).

Siva Prasad had been suffering from kidney ailment for some time now and was admitted to hospital in Tirupati a few days ago.On Thursday, he was shifted to Apollo hospitals in Chennai,where he died.

Sivaprasad was elected to the Lok Sabha from Chittoor (SC) constituency twice.He had also served as a member of (united) Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Minister for Information and Public Relations in the furst innings of Chandrababu Naidu cabinet till 2003.

A doctor by education and actor by passion, Siva Prasad had began as a stage artist.He also acted and directed several Telugu movies.He also received the Nandi award for being a best villain.

His contributions were hailed by politicians cutting across partylines by both Jaganmohan Reddy and Chandrababu.

The TDP has lost two senior leaders within a week,the death of former Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao.
