Amaravati: Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday filed a petition in the High Court seeking revival of security cover to him. The High Court may hear the case on Tuesday.
The new chief minister of AP, YS Jaganmohan Reddy, has reduced the security to Naidu and this has been creating political ramifications in the state.
Ever since, YS Jaganmohan Reddy assumed the power in the state, the YSRCP government has been trimming security levels for Naidu.
It has already removed escort and pilot vehicles totally in addition to cancelling the chief security officer (CSO), additional chief security officer and armed guards. Now, Naidu has three teams each comprising two constables for his security.
However, Naidu will have security cover by National Security Guards (NSG) deployed by the Centre. Because, Naidu is in the Z-plus security list. Naidu is reportedly asking the High Court to revive security level, which he had prior to 2014 as former chief minister.
