Sudini Jaipal Reddy , a four time MLA , two term Rajya Sabha, and five term Lok Sabha member from united Andhra Pradesh died at age of 77 in a Hyderabad hospital in the early hours of Sunday.

He was well known for his vitriolic attack on Indira Gandhi who began his career as a student leader of Osmania university, congress MLA in 1070 but joined Janata party in protest against emergency .

He was four time MLA from Makthal from 1969 to 1984. Janata Party general secretary from 1985 to 1988, elected to Lok Sabha for the first time in 1984 from Mahbubnagar.

He is a fitting example of disgruntled Indian politician swinged from Congress to opposition and returns to enjoy fruits of power and position. His erudite conduct and personal approach to politics had kept him afloat in Indian political scene for decades .

He was a failure in Andhra politics despite being a Reddy from Mahboobnagar as he was distanced by the Reddy lobbies of both Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra.Telangana Reddy group was scared his fiery tongue.

I had personal rapport with him , interviewed him several times ,last being 2008 elections . We are fossils of history and Indian politics,Radhakrishna Gary , he had said then.

Reddy was Union Minister in Federal front government earlier and Congress-led UPA I and UPA II regimes. He was elected to the Lok Sabha four times and Rajya Sabha twice and .MLA of border segment of Makthal four times .

He was shifted from petroleum to science and technology under controversial circumstances following differences over gas allocation to Reliance, after he refused to budge to Reliance demands.Reddy, current Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu and late Gouthu Latchanna had served as a strong Oppositon in the State Assembly.

They shook all governments with their acidic tongue and rulers were scared whenever they sought to speak in the assembly floor.Had he been in BJP Reddy could have been a perfect candidat for either a Governor, or VP post.
