India added another feather in its cap by successfully test-firing its nuclear capable surface-to-surface Agni-5 ballistic missile on Thursday. The Agni 5, which has a strike range of 5000 km, was test-fired from a test range off the Odisha coast

With Agni 5, which was tested from Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast, India can reach almost all of China and most of Europe.  The missile, according to official reports, travelled for 19 minutes and covered 4,900 km. India thus joined the exclusive club of countries having ICBMs. Only the US, Britain, Russia, China and France have this capability.
Agni 5, is termed a fire and forget missile. It can be intercepted only by the interceptor missiles only Russia, Israel and the US have.
