In time, you will know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right. Yet to fail all the same. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives”, ..
….says Thanos, the antagonist in latest sequel of Marvel franchise, Avengers-The infinity war, to the Avengers, while challenging them.
It appears, Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minster of Karnataka had become a sort of “Thanos”, for the BJP, the Avenger, which is going all out to take a revenge for its loss to him in the last assembly elections.
In Karnataka, during the ongoing assembly election, the biggest opposition to the BJP chief Amit shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi doesn’t come from Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi or anyone else, but from a local politician.
Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has emerged as the nemesis of the BJP top brass in the state.
He seems to have destroyed the BJP election plank in his own inimitable style and rustic humor.
Despite being a warhorse for decades, it is just now it has emerged that he is also a shrewd political strategist who can go all guns blazing against everyone, from Amit Shah to Modi and the Reddy brothers.
There is no denying, the BJP’s entire election campaign has been based on duplicity.
It projected B S Yeddyurappa as the chief ministerial candidate, notwithstanding the fact he was convicted in corruption case and was the basis of his removal from the chief ministerial post.
The BJP’s dependence on him and the corrupt Reddy brothers has added further ammunition to the formidable armour of the Chief Minister, who has worked hard to win the trust of his people.
Siddaramaiah is very blunt while attacking the BJP. In a recent interview he said the BJP has no powerful or influential leader in Karnataka.
“In these polls, the BJP is heavily dependent on Modi, because none of their local leaders have any face value — be it (B S) Yeddyurappa, Ananth Kumar, Anantkumar Hegde or (K S) Eshwarappa. They cannot influence people in a major way”.
If that was not enough, he went on to add saying Modi doesn’t speak like a PM. “It is a fact that Modi does have an influence in Karnataka.
Modi is here till the end of the campaign for the polls, but while we expected him to speak like the Prime Minister of India — about what his government has done and what the BJP will do — his campaign has been disappointing,’’ he said.
His attack went even further. “There is a feeling that the BJP is a cultured party, but the language used in the campaign by the BJP has been far from cultured and parliamentary.
The language used by the Prime Minister and other BJP leaders has been poor in the campaign”.
He attacked the BJP for its unconvincing effort to malign his and his government’s image.
“The Prime Minister has called the Siddaramaiah government a 10 per cent government — do they have any proof for this? I have to react to these remarks.
He keeps saying ‘Seeda Rupaiah’ government what should I say.
They have so many agencies to collect evidence but what is the evidence he has to substantiate these allegations that it is a 10 per cent government.
What is the evidence to show say that it is a ‘Seedha Rupaiah’ government,’’ Siddaramaiah went on to add.
It is clear that in Karnataka, it is not the Congress president or anyone the saffron camp fears, it is Siddaramaiah that the BJP top brass fears the most.
Regardless, whether he would turn the tables on BJP or not……It’s a conjecture of time.
But, for the moment, he is making Modi to sweat it out a bit more hard…..
Sidda is turning out to be Thanos, for Modi the Avenger to wage his Karnataka war with…
