Each board have a chairm Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to set up five Regional Development Boards (RDB) in the state.  Each Board having one chairman, the chairman must be an MLA of AP. State Government working on it, and may announce shortly.  RDBs are not new for the AP Government. In the combained state the Congress Government established the boards in 1970s to implement six plans scheme.  But these boards are not functioned properly. Mean while 1983 the then chief Minister N.T.Ramarao cancelled these boards in 1983 after he came to power.  And Ramarao taken efforts to set up three RDB boards each one for Coastal, Rayalaseema and telengana Regions and failed because of the negligence of the Government.  Again Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy came to power in 2004, he was also tried to setup the same type of boards, but in vain. Now Jagan Reddy trying to set up five RDBs in the state.  He was promised in his election manifesto Navarathnas to develop the state regional wise.  Sources said Jagan is going to announce five RBDs after finalising the norms and regulations the government  may release the orders.
