Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent most of Tuesday in his home state of Gujarat where he celebrated his 69th birthday.

He called on his 95 year old mother in Ahmedabad and shared lunch with her, worshiped Ma Narmada at famous temple Kevadia in Gujarat and also paid a visit to Patel monument.

He also discussed development issues with Gujarat government and addressed a public meeting at Kevadia besides launching some projects in Jharkhand.

As part of Modi birthday celebrations, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked all its 303 Members of Parliament (MPs) and 78 MPs in Rajya Sabha to spend the day in their constituency.
BJP leaders have been asked to celebrate the week as ‘Sewa Saptah’ starting 14 September.

Senior leaders have also decided to spend the day urging people to stop using single-use plastic,organising cleanliness drives and to help people, especially those who are not in the best of health.

BJP has also organised an exhibition on PM Modi in different parts of the country,including party headquarters in New Delhi, to celebrate the day.

In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his mother Heeraba in Ahmedabad on the occasion of his 64th birthday.The PM greeted his mother and touched her feet to seek blessings.Heeraba,95,blessed her son as she gave him Rs 5,001 as a birthday gift,which he donated to the Jammu and Kashmir flood relief fund.

The prime minister also hosted a special dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping in Ahmedabad on his 64th birthday.

In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Shauryanjali, a military exhibition to mark the golden jubilee of Indo-Pak War of 1965, and said that the valour and sacrifice of the armed forces during the war would remain etched in every Indians memory.

A 365-kg ladoo was unveiled to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 65th birthday. Non-governmental organisation Sulabh declared PM Modi’s birthday as ‘Swachhta Diwas’.

In 2016 on his 66th birthday Modi went to Navsari where he attended a function where aid was distributed to the differently-abled persons.

About 989 lamps were lit simultaneously in Navsari making it a rare feat.In 2017 PM Modi, on his 67th birthday,
dedicated the mega Sardar Sarovar Dam project to the nation amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by studentsIn 2018 the prime minister spent his 68th birthday at his parliamentary constituency Varanasi with school children.

He visited a primary school and celebrated his birthday with students. PM Modi also brought some gifts Of fsolar lamp, stationary, school bags and notebooksor the students.
