The present budget Session of the NDA led Government would be the last full Budget Session 2018 before General Elections 2019.

It is the first time there is just a month’s gap between the Winter Session and the Budget Session.

The Session will begin with President Kovind’s first address to joint houses. The highly structured and pre-election coloured Budget will be presented on 1st February. The Economic Survey will also be presented to Parliament on the same day. This will also be the first Budget post implementation of the GST system.

Some of the highlights of this storming session would be passing of 12 essential Bills such as Triple Talaq, GST, Lok Pal Bill, Real Estate Bill, National Waterways Bill and High Court & Supreme Court Judges Bill followed by some bills listed for introduction.

The first phase of the session will be from January 29 to February 9 and for the second phase the Parliament will meet again from 5th March to 6th April, 2018.
