NGT stalls ₹83,796 crore AP irrigation project.

The National Green Tribunal which passed any proposal of AP government when Chandrababu was honeymooning with BJP is now gunning against not only Amaravati, Polavaram ,and Pulichintala but now Project Penna linking Godavari and Krishna rivers .
NGT dealing with the petition filed by former minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar, Trinath Reddy, and 11 other petitioners has on Tuesday directed the Andhra Pradesh government not to proceed with interlinking of Godavari-Krishna-Penna rivers and construction and operation of Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme, Purushothapatnam Lift Irrigation Scheme and Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Scheme, without the necessary environmental clearance. It appears that the complaints filed YSRC and other activists in the past were getting acted new when the tdp government was toppled and a new regime took over. The NGT headed by Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, passed the order after considering the report submitted by the Joint Inspection Committee (JIC) constituted with officials from Central Pollution Control Board, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board and Minister of Environment and Forest in January 2019 .
