A Bureaucrat in Karnataka, S Sasikanth Senthil, quit the IAS or Indian Administrative Service on Friday, protesting that fundamentals of democracy are being compromised in an unprecedented manner in the state .

In a letter that the Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner is then second high-profile official to resign in a matter of weeks within months of BJPs Yediyurappa sssumed office.

followed in footsteps of many young officers like Kannan Gopinathan and ?Shah Faisal.

Last month,33 year old Kannan Gopinathan, IAS .resigned from the Dadra and Nagar Haveli administration to protest against denial of abrogations of article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir etc.

In January, IAS officer Shah Faesal, who became the first Kashmiri to top the civil services exam in 2009, resigned to protest what he called “unabated” killings in Kashmir and the marginalisation of Indian Muslims. He subsequently formed a political party, the J&K Peoples Movement.
