Short of declaration of war, Pakistan had initiated hostile measures on India including closure of air corridor for second time in 2019 and trade with India in response to Kashmir developments .

The flights that will be diverted include flights to US, Europe and the Middle East, which will result in an additional up to 12 minutes of flying time forAir India operates around 50 flights daily through Pakistani airspace.

Following the Balakot air strikes, Pakistan had closed its airspace on February 26 and it was fully reopened on July 16.

The Indian government on Monday abolished provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories — Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh .

Economists and analysts say that all the restrictions on India would boomerang on Pakistan which needed commodities supplies from India .All its flights to Africa,Russia and Singapore have to take a long detour.
