In Tirumala the abode of Lord Venkateswara Next to bureaucrats,TTD board members it is the huge crowd of reporters of channels. Magazines, tabloids, newspapers that hold the key. They amass a portion of lords wealth with or without his knowledge.

Which ever is the party in power they get their things done-advertisements, VIP darshan tickets, accommodation, or other services. It is an open secret that a section of media working on the holy hills of Tirumala have been virtually ruling the roost.

There have been several allegations of these media persons have been indulging in several malpractices with the connivance of some TTD staff members in black-marketing of darshan tickets, seva tickets and even laddu sales.TTD officials connive with media to get benefits.

Some of these media reporters have grabbed contracts for setting up of shops, parking lots and other counters. During brahmotsavams they mint money on par with TTD staff. Way back in early 2005 they were all allotted spacious cottages on Tirumala to house their offices at subsidised rates.

There was a JEO KS Srinivasa Raju who operated through reporters to get undue favours. Raju was also known for wanting to get photographed with beautiful women and celebrity girls who came for darshan. Another retired official Dollar Seshadri gets royal treatment by whichever party in power and connections in judiciary and bureaucracy.

Engineering department and temple department spent over ₹1500 crores every year on temporary arrangements instead of putting up permanent structures. There is hardly any rules and regulations,procedures for any sanctions or freebies by officials for their favoured ones. EOs,JEOs, EOs conduct themselves like royals.JEO Srinivasa Raju had 14 superintendents,45 other staff and 35 attendees in his office.His tenure was 8 years and 3 months 2nd longest in TTD.

Now, the new TTD trust board has decided to put an end to this indiscriminate loot by media persons.
The board is learnt to have prepared dossiers on such reporters and conveyed the same to their managements to take appropriate action against them.

According to reports, a reporter of a prominent Telugu daily was shifted from Tirumala, as there were allegations that he was involved in sale of 820 VIP tickets for Kalyanam, Suprabhatam and other Arjitha Sevas and had earned around Rs 1 lakh a day.

He reportedly bought a residence closer to Alipiri police station. He had been working on Tirumala hills for the last 10 years.

Another reporter of a lesser known news channel also sacked for indulging in irregularities. He is said to earning not less than Rs 3 lakh to 4 lakh a month. There used to be a famous reporter of TV9 who amassed wealth enough to launch his own cable network in Tirupati.

The management was apparently stunned to know that this reporter managed the show by employing four benami reporters, as he is not capable of writing even two lines properly. This reporter had grabbed 783 VIP tickets between January and June this year. He reportedly had control over allotment of guest houses and laddus and earned lakhs of rupees, inquiries revealed.

He is also working as unofficial PRO for two corporate houses and getting double salaries. Apart from sacking this reporter, the management is said to be contemplating filing a criminal case against this gentleman.

These are all small fries. There were big shits who own choultries, restaurants, shops and get annual contracts for supply of flowers. Ghee, rice, coconuts,photo frames , electrical goods etc to TTD
