Congress leader Rahul Gandhi found fault with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for participating in the poll campaign of US President Donald Trump as allegedly raised the slogan of Abhi Baar Trump Sarkar at Howdy Modi at the Houston rally on September 22 has hit out at Union external affairs minister S Jaishankar over his clarification on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call of ‘Abki Baar Trump Sarkar’ Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi sarcastically thanked Jaishankar for covering up PM Modi’s for “campaigning” on behalf of US President Donald Trump at the Houston rally. As Jaishankar told media persons that PM Modi never said “Abki Baar Trump Sarkar” Earlier, Jaishankar, who is in Washington DC for a 3-day visit, said he was merely referring to what Trump himself had said to appeal to the 50,000 Indian-Americans gathered at the event. Refuting the charges that PM Modi ended up campaigning for a foreign leader, Jaishankar said, “No, he did not say that.”We have a very nonpartisan approach to domestics US politics. So, our sort of approach to whatever happens in this country is their politics, not our politics,” Jaishankar said. Congress had earlier taken potshots at PM Modi and accused him of endorsing Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 US Presidential elections.
