“Electric vehicles between Tirupati and Tirumala”

Tirupati, :   Tirupati Corporation is planning to run electric vehicles between Tirupati and Tirumala to make city pollution free.  Corporation is taking steps to run the electrical vehicles including transport buses and private taxies.  Recently corporation commissioner Girisha met the private taxies Association members and urged them to convert into electrical vehicles in the place of diesel and petrol operated a passenger vehicle which causes increasing pollution due to emissions in the city.  Now, around 75 thousands devotees coming to Tirumala in a day. Nearly 5300 cars and jeeps are running between Tirumala and Tirupati. And also 1500 trips of APSRTC busses transporting the pilgrims.  But APSRTC had already decided to operate electrical Buses between Tirupati and Tirumala. Corporation is planning to arrange loans to replace the regular taxies.  Corporation commissioner also requesting the central government for exemptions for electrical vehicles. Each electrical taxi may cost around 10 to 12 lakhs rupees. Totally it may cost around Rs. 12 crores for 100 vehicles in the first phase. Corporation also involving Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) in this proposal to provide loans to the taxi drivers. Corporations also planning to arrange charging points in the various places in and around Tirupati
