Come monsoons the coastal cities of Mumbai ,.Chennai and Kolkata are in news fir house collapses killing many residents and also bystanders.

At least two people including a woman have been killed and forty others still trapped inside debris after a four-storeyed building collapsed in Mumbai’s Dongri at around 11 am on Tuesday. So far five persons including two children have pulled out to safety .

The 100 year old building was a Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority building but was not on the list of dilapidated buildings issued for this monsoon with 15 families as residents. It was the second such collapse around Mumbai in less than ten days.

In the last five and a half years in Mumbai, 2704 buildings have collapsed leading to deaths of 234 people and 840 injured.
