VP Naidu undergoes heart surgery, discharged

New Delhi: The Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, who underwent angioplasty at AIIMS hospital on Friday was discharged on Saturday.
Naidu, who visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for a complete body check up in August after becoming the vice president was told of problems related to the heart.
When he visited the hospital on Friday for undergoing angiography, a significant blockage in one of the main arteries was found and later a stent was placed to treat the condition.
According to the AIIMS authorities, all the parameters of Naidu are normal. He was suggested total rest for three days, without having any visitors.
The surgery took place under the supervision of Professor Dr Balram Bhargava of the Department of Cardiology.
