- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu chaired a State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting that approved multiple industrial and technology projects, including packages valued at over Rs 22,000 crore overall and specific IT/futuristic technology projects worth around Rs 526 crore. He directed that approved projects must commence production within six months and emphasised integrated port, logistics, electronics, and energy infrastructure development across the state.
- CM Naidu announced that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will provide insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh to every devotee in partnership with LIC in case of death. He also outlined plans for improved temple facilities, electric buses, integrated hospitals, a skywalk, and sustainable infrastructure in the Tirupati region to enhance pilgrim services.
- The government agreed to constitute the 12th Pay Revision Commission and clear two pending Dearness Allowances for state employees starting October 2026, offering salary relief. Separately, a recruitment notification was issued for 147 driver-operator posts in the Fire Services department after an eight-year gap.
- The annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams continued at Tirumala (September 15–23). On September 18, the Kalpavriksha Vahanam took place in the morning and the Sarvabhoopala Vahanam in the evening, drawing large crowds of devotees. Cultural performances by artists from multiple states, including traditional dance forms, were organised. September 19 features the important Garuda Vahanam in the evening.
- TTD launched the Nandakam app to streamline tracking of defects, maintenance issues across pilgrim accommodations and facilities, and sanitary problems along key routes such as ghat roads and footpaths, with automatic escalation and live resolution tracking.
- In crime-related incidents, two young women died in a car crash into a roadside hotel in Anantapur district; families alleged foul play. A farmer and his daughter died in a suspected murder-suicide poisoning case in NTR district, with the son critically injured. Other road accidents were reported, including fatalities in Nellore district.
- The India Meteorological Department issued alerts for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the coming days in parts of Andhra Pradesh as a low-pressure system develops over the Bay of Bengal and moves towards the north Andhra and south Odisha coasts. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are also expected in several areas.
Telangana
- The Telangana High Court disqualified Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender under the anti-defection law for switching from BRS to Congress, setting the stage for a by-election in the constituency. BRS leaders welcomed the order and indicated that similar action could follow against other defectors.
- Political tensions continued between the ruling Congress and opposition BRS. BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to substantiate claims regarding large-scale land holdings linked to the KCR family and farmhouse issues. Officials initiated or continued inquiries into alleged land irregularities at the Erravelly/Janwada farmhouse area. The owner of one property publicly stated it belonged to him and not to KTR.
- Multiple road accidents were reported. In Shamshabad, a car crash killed four members of a family returning from Ganesh immersion on NH-44. A bus-tractor collision in Siddipet injured around 30 people. Additional fatalities and injuries occurred in other districts, including Hanamkonda.
- Crime and administrative actions included ACB arrests of police officers (inspector and SI) in a bribery case. A Congress leader died by suicide in Hanamkonda. Cyberabad authorities demolished 14 unauthorised constructions. Other incidents involved murders and related police investigations.
- Weather forecasts indicated increasing rainfall intensity. The IMD issued yellow alerts for heavy showers and thunderstorms across numerous Telangana districts (including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Warangal, Nizamabad, and others) expected from approximately September 20 to 23, linked to the developing Bay of Bengal system. Light to moderate rain with gusty winds was also noted in the immediate period.
