WASHINGTON DC, USA: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed global developments and laid the groundwork for a 2+2 meeting during their wide-ranging talks in Washington DC on Friday.

Jaishankar is currently on a five-day official trip to the US. This is the highest-level interaction between the two countries after the recent G-20 Summit in New Delhi.

In a tweet after the meeting, Jaishankar said, “Great to meet my friend US Secretary of State @SecBlinken at State Department today. The 2+2 meeting is a high-level dialogue between the Foreign and Defense Ministers of India and the US. It is a platform to discuss bilateral, regional, and global security issues.
